Our Mission is to raise Low Input, Forage based, Profitable White Dorper sheep. This will be achieved by adhering to the following Principles.
- Extensive Record Keeping – Extensive records and NSIP EBV’s will be used track the performance of our animals and monitor our breeding program objectively.
- Parasite Resistance – In order to reduce the cost of deworming, the resistance to anthelmintics, and the production losses due to heavy worm populations we select replacement stock based on their natural resistance to parasites.
- Forage Based – Will be raised on a low cost forage based diet with minimum supplementation.
- Commercial Environment – Our stud Ewes will be ran in a real world commercial environment with no special or additional treatment. This will allow the environment to sort out the weaker ewes and prevent the replacement animals we sell from “falling apart” when put into commercial operations.
- Reproductive Efficiency – A ewe must wean at least 1 lamb every year to remain in the flock.
- Minimal Assistance –They need to be able to lamb on pasture unassisted and quickly care for and nurse their lambs.
- Phenotype – We will select for Medium Framed, Well Muscled, and Easy Fleshing Sheep with a Large Volume/Capacity rumen for converting forages.
- Honesty and Integrity – Our honesty and integrity will not be compromised.
